Flute Lessons

Level I

Level I is designed for students of all ages who are learning and exploring the flute for the first time. Each lesson is personalized to meet the individual needs of the student, with a focus on building strong foundations in sound production, posture, basic music theory, and more.

Level II & III

Level II & III is for students who are able to produce sound comfortably and demonstrate a solid understanding of fundamental music theory. Each student receives tailored instruction focusing on tone development, technical exercises, and building a varied repertoire. Lessons emphasize musicality, expression, and personal growth as a flutist.

Young Artists Program

Our selective Young Artist Program is offered by audition placement only. This level is designed for highly motivated students preparing for local or national competitions, summer programs, masterclasses, workshops, and college auditions. Students in this program receive focused, high-level instruction to elevate their performance and artistry.

Studio Classes

Riverside Flute Academy offers studio classes every two months, covering a wide range of materials including warm-up exercises, scale practice, orchestral excerpts, and All-County/All-State audition preparation.

*Studio classes are required for Level III and Young Artist students. Level I and II students are welcome to attend as auditors.

Masterclasses

Led by Mr. and Mrs. Huskey and guest artists, students participate in two masterclasses each year. These classes provide invaluable opportunities to perform, receive feedback, and learn from distinguished flutists in a supportive yet challenging environment.

*Masterclasses are available to Level III and Young Artist students only.

Performance Opportunities

All students participate in two chamber concerts each year. These events offer opportunities to perform solo pieces and/or collaborate in small ensembles, helping students build confidence and stage presence through meaningful performance experiences.
